Safety at Our Facility:

Why Indoor Parks Are Important for Safety? Our large indoor parks, secured behind multiple layers of self-closing doors, are designed to ensure safety and control. This system prevents unexpected escapes, unlike outdoor areas where environmental factors can create risks. A recent incident at a Shreveport kennel highlights the dangers of outdoor spaces: a group of dogs managed to escape an outdoor play area and ventured onto a busy highway. The employees, along with nearby business workers, risked their safety to corral the dogs, facing chaos with honking cars and hazardous conditions. Such scenarios underline the importance of secure indoor environments.

Why Are Outdoor Areas Dangerous?

Outdoor areas can be unpredictable and hazardous for several reasons. Dogs have varying escape capabilities—some are skilled climbers, others dig, and many are strong and fast enough to push past even the most experienced handler or well-designed gate. Our facility is meticulously designed to address these risks by incorporating multiple layers of safety measures. If a dog manages to escape one safe area, it is contained in another. This proactive approach ensures that we can prevent any dangerous situations.

Mixing Boarding Dogs

We strongly oppose mixing boarding dogs that do not know each other. Some competitors may promote mixing dogs for socialization, but we consider this a dangerous practice. Socialization between unfamiliar dogs is a complex, time-consuming process that often takes weeks or even months. It’s not something we take lightly. Some dogs simply cannot safely interact with others, and we do not put them in daycare unless we are sure it is safe. We prioritize safety above all and ensure that only compatible dogs interact with each other.

Safety Engineering

Our facility is engineered with safety in mind, taking into account the behaviors of climbers, diggers, escape artists, and powerful dogs. Every area is designed to be secure, and we’ve invested heavily in safety measures. Our goal is that if a dog escapes one safe area, they will still be in a secure environment. Safety is woven into every aspect of our facility, from design to daily operations.

Grass vs. Turf for Training We understand the importance of keeping your dog comfortable, and while many dogs are grass-trained, we find that artificial grass and large areas are just as effective for training. In most cases, there is no need for your dog to leave a secure area. We do have a real grass area, but this is used only with careful coordination with the pet owner and in specific circumstances.

Pitbulls, American Bulldogs, and Related Breeds

While we are dedicated to providing care for all dogs, we have specific safety protocols for breeds like Pitbulls and American Bulldogs due to their strength and sensitivity. These dogs can be wonderful companions, but their power and sensitivity mean that even minor stress can lead to an unpredictable situation. We do not bathe or groom these breeds, as their strength can make even routine grooming procedures risky. However, we offer boarding services with specially designed safety enclosures that allow our staff to care for these dogs without compromising safety. Owners are required to place their dogs in the specially designed safety enclosure and pick them up directly, ensuring that there is no risk to our staff during the transfer.

In conclusion, we go above and beyond to create a safe and secure environment for all dogs. Every aspect of our facility is thoughtfully designed to ensure the safety of pets and employees alike.
